Joanna Malcolm is a Port Perry based artist who has studied under artists such as Brian Atyeo, Peter Kolisnyk, John Leonard, Dennis Cliff, Claudia McCabe and Steve Rose , primarily through the Haliburton School of the Arts. She is currently working towards a Visual and Creative Arts Diploma.
Joanna is relatively new to the art scene and has been studying and practicing for about 10 years. Since giving up nursing in 2005 she now spends most of her time at her Studio by the Green in Nestleton, ON.
Her art work is collected nationally and hangs in many private collections across the country. Joanna is a diverse painter with work ranging from whimsical illustrative and realism to intuitive abstractions in watercolour and acrylic.
“ I paint what I feel on any given day. I use lots of colour and just play, either with a goal of painting a specific image or letting it evolve purely intuitively. I love what I do!” |
